Gold Lake and Plumas Park

 

While the valley was baking in  110 heat this last weekend, my paddling pod headed up to the forest for three days of camping, paddling and hiking.  The temps still hit a 100, but better than the 112 I heard about. 

We visited Lower Sardine lake, hiked to Upper Sardine, paddled Gold Lake and hiked the Jamieson Mine Trail to Grassy lake. My group always pushes me to test my limits and the hike to Grassy Lake did me in! 

The trail was pretty straight uphill and hot! But beautiful falls and a cool mountain lake was a worthy reward.
