Yosemite in Spring - The path less taken

A river flows through it... so true.  This trip I wanted to do something different, so my two buds and I decided to walk the river. It was the perfect way to see Yosemite. We followed the Merced as it twisted and turned, always providing a new view of the majestic granite walls.

Most of the way was off path and we saw very few people.  We had to rock hop a few places, over streams and creeks, to stay with the river.  The three of us are quite a fun group, Ree, 20 years younger and M, almost 20 years older.  M, is amazing, she hopped and danced over the rocks with a lot more finesse that I ever have been able to pull off.  Ree, is the lead mountain goat and adventurer. She has never seen a rock she did not climb or a stone wall she could resist jumping over to explore the mysteries on the other side.

This time of year is perfect for hiking, but comes with cold mornings and nights.  So this time I rented an RV.  Perfect!  Campfires at night and warm comfy beds and showers for the mornings.

The waterfalls were in fine form with the wind blowing and sending the waters into a fine dance.

All the stone bridges along the river path were another treat.

Now I just have to figure out how to add the kayak...
