Lights, Paddle, PARADE!!

Saturday was a bit overcast but calm.  It had been a couple of weeks since I had been on the water and it felt good to have Tessie loaded in the car and headed for the lake.  I looked forward to getting some time on the water before the parade.

Thanks to an idea from fellow blogger, Woman on Water, I put out the well received idea for a Christmas Paddle Parade of Lights.  We had a great turnout and hopefully have started a new tradition.

The lake was almost completely empty when I took off.  I had about an hour before the scheduled time for others to bring boats and start decorating.  Although we had good sign ups you never know how many will show.  I was thinking I would be glad if we had 4 or 5 come out.  It was about 60 degrees when I got to the lake but knew it would get closer to 45 by sunset.

So peaceful...and calm...and empty

I headed out to Mississippi Bar.

By the time I got back to the meet up spot at the beach, the cars were coming and boats were getting dressed up!!...We were gonna have a parade!

We were treated to an amazing sunset

Next Year...bigger, brighter...and some better pics in the dark!
